I believe that affirmative action is a necessary evil. It exists for a reason and I think serves a valid purpose? Does it promote reverse discrimination? Yes. Is it a racist policy? Arguably so. But you have to wonder what would happen if affirmative action didn't exist. There would be a perpetuation of the viscious majority-over-minority cycle that has come to characterize our society. That's what's so trouble about racism. It exists when you don't do anything about it, but it also exists when you try to correct it, in some way or another.

That makes me what we are all trying to do when it comes to addressing race. "We" being the entire world at large. Are race activists trying to solve a deep-rooted problem? Do civil rights advocates believe that they can equality in the eyes of everyone is possible? I don't think that creating a utopia is possible. It's just not realistic. There will always be someone with a biased opinion. We ourselves can fall prey to a racist thought from time to time thanks to the extremely broad definition of racism. So what's the end goal? I believe that we need to protect us society from racist thought and tendencies. But what exactly can we achieve?
