I agree. I also liked the preface and forward because it helped set the tone of the book. I am very interested in reading this book because I think it will help me better understand the unfairness of the media in this country in terms of employing minorities. I agree with Jessica about Newkirk being fair with her conclusions and how she has agreed to look at both sides of the story. I have heard a lot of people say things about racism being virtually a thing of the past, and how minorities have equal rights and stuff...but do they really? From most of the statistics on employment of minorities in newsrooms around the country, as well as representation in the papers presented in some of the chapter 3 articles, as well as the foreword, I would have to say no.
PS my book is autographed, too. I thought that was kinda cool!
